2025. The year we dreamed about

Before the year even began, we were already welcoming our first guests for Christmas and New Year’s. New Year’s was especially magical, as we were treated to an abundance of northern lights. Our Dutch guests—accustomed to fireworks—were instead awed by the spectacular aurora borealis and the peacefulness of the environment. Speaking with them afterward, it was clear this was a memorable moment, experiencing the spectacle through their eyes. It filled us with pride to share this after working so hard for five years to reach this point.

Reflecting back, the vacation season that started the year was incredibly successful—and now we’re ready for even bigger steps.

This year, we joined the fantastic group Gold of Lapland. This organization has supported us immensely because they love our location and its rich historical and cultural significance. Thanks to them, we’ve been on inspiring field trips and represented at the Vakantie Beurs. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Cecilia and Paula, who have always been ready to answer every question.

One of the biggest decisions we made this year was about summer. We’ve run a summer café the past few years, which, while successful, demands a lot of energy. This year, we chose to focus on renovating the exterior of the buildings and the garden instead, ensuring our BnB guests get our full attention and the property shines.

So far, we’ve cleared wild bushes and trees, rediscovered hidden rows of berry bushes, planted more flowers around the grounds, and begun renovating the old stuga. The roof was in dire need of repair—over 30 broken tiles—and now the plan is to prepare all the rooms in the stuga for conferences and workshops. We will also build a fireplace outside the stuga. Plus, we’ve acquired a 78cm Hällmark and a 48cm Muurika, so soon guests can book conferences combined with open-fire cooking workshops—perfect for teambuilding. We’ve been cooking on them a lot already, and the food tastes amazing.

Looking ahead, always thinking about growth and quality, I received a message from a contact I’ve been nurturing for three years. Danny of Dutch Husky Experience reached out—he had a radical life change and wanted to explore collaboration possibilities with Kronlund. After many exciting conversations, it’s safe to say we’ll soon be enhancing our guests’ experience together. Details will come later, but expect more huskies around the property, accompanying guests on snowshoe walks and northern lights hikes. Truly an exciting time!

So while summer is in full swing, we’re constantly working to raise the quality of every guest experience.

It took me a while to write another update, but trust me when I say—we never stop working until this place is exactly what we dreamed it could be. And with every step, we’re closer to turning that dream into reality.

2024: A Year of Growth and Exciting Opportunities

An exciting look back

A lot has happened for us here at Kronlund Kursgård in 2024! The year started with an incredible opportunity—we took part in the biggest vacation convention in the Netherlands, the "Vakantiebeurs", representing Gold of Lapland and Visit Sweden. It was an unforgettable moment to see Kronlund Kursgård featured on the wall of the Visit Sweden stand!

This event led to exciting new connections that we are eager to explore in the coming years. We also had the pleasure of selling vacation packages directly to guests, many of whom have already visited us here in northern Sweden (as of March 2025). Seeing these travelers go from meeting us at the convention to experiencing the magic of our property firsthand was truly rewarding. And the best part? Every single vacation we hosted this winter received a 5 out of 5-star rating—an amazing testament to the experiences we create!

Conferences & Our First Wedding Party

Throughout the year, we hosted several conferences, welcoming businesses and organizations seeking a unique, peaceful retreat. But one of the biggest highlights? Our first wedding party!

In the summer, we had the honor of celebrating a beautiful couple’s special day. We served a BBQ-style buffet for the happy couple and their guests and set up a fully stocked bar on the porch, offering all the beverages they requested. As the evening went on, live music filled the air, and by 11 PM, the couple and their guests took over the mic for a karaoke party that lasted into the early hours of the morning. It was a night to remember, and we were thrilled to be part of it!

A Successful Julbord Season

As the year drew to a close, we once again hosted our traditional Swedish Julbord—and it was a huge success! The demand was so high that we had to end the Julbord season earlier than planned to focus on welcoming the many vacation guests arriving for their winter getaways. However, we made sure that even our international guests got to experience the magic of a real Swedish Christmas feast, and for many, it became a memory they will cherish forever.

Looking Ahead to 2025

With the new year in full swing, we’ve already been back at the Vakantiebeurs in the Netherlands, building even more valuable connections. The momentum we’ve gained is incredible, and we are beyond grateful for the growth, opportunities, and amazing guests that keep us busy year-round.

The hard work we’ve put in over the last five years is truly paying off, and we are more excited than ever about what the future holds! Stay tuned—I’ll be updating this blog with more stories and insights as the year unfolds.
